School Board Referendum

50th No More is in support of the School Board Referendum on the ballot November 2nd which would restore funding for critical school maintenance and equipment needs that have been cut from the school district's budget.

And we hope we can count on your support.

Our School Board & Superintendent have been good stewards of our school budget, but what they have can only go so far.

For the past 2 years the Legislature has taken .25 mills from local property taxes originally used for capital expenses & moved it to operational.  This referendum will restore the .5 millage for capital expenses that we desperately need to maintain our children’s schools.

While we must hold Tallahassee accountable, we must also take care of our own.  We have to decide what type of community we want – one divided by national politics or one where we decide what we value in our community & vote accordingly.

Many in our county are not aware of the Referendum or why we need it.  In an effort to get the word out, we invite you to:

1.      Organize & participate in Poster Parties around the county to make signs supporting the Referendum;

2.      Wave signs on election day;

3.      Pass out information to early voters;

4.      Write a letter of support to the St. Augustine Record;

5.      Email your friends who may not know about the Referendum.

Thank you for your support of St. Johns County Schools.
